Mall of America (MOA)

Mall of America Sign

Mall of America (MOA),  is the largest indoor mall in the United States. You may take a light rail (LRT) from any stops from the MSP airport, or in downtown Minneapolis to the Mall of America.

This is the MOA lobby near Nordstrom. It is one of the centers where events, shows, demonstrations and competitions take place.

The Minneapolis Court House (pictured on the left) is a landmark in downtown Minneapolis.  From there, take the light rail from (it starts at the Warehouse District). Take the light rail all the way to the end of the line, and that is the Mall of America (MOA).

The Mall of America

The Mall of America (or MOA), is the largest indoor mall in the United States. The only other bigger mall is located in Canada - the Edmonton Mall. MOA  is located in Bloomington, Minnesota, one of the suburbs of Minneapolis, St. Paul. It is only 7 minutes away from the MSP Airport. If you are coming from Terminal I (Lindbergh Terminal), go down to the lower most level of the GTC Building (where car rentals are located). You may take a tram from the GTC Building. The one and only stop is the LRT stop. Watch for the signs; watch for LRT at the side that says "Bloomington/Mall of America". The rush hour fare to the MOA is $2.25; on weekends, holidays and non rush hours, the fare is $1.75. There are ticket vending machines before you enter the subway to take the LRT.

You may also take the Metro Transit from the airport (Lindbergh or Terminal I only). Go the "T" level of the GTC /Rental Cars buildings and look for double doors marked "Bus Stops". Metro Transit.org representatives (1-800-4-BUS) can help you for times, or you may browse at the schedules posted by the door at the bus stops.

The bus and LRT tickets are valid for 2-1/2 hours so be sure to watch the time if you are on lay-over in MSP so that you do not miss your flight.

Once you reach the LRT and Bus stops terminals at the MOA, it is easy to access the main MOA building.

Games and rides for kids and adults alike. This used to be called "Camp Snoopy".
